Unrestricted Track Force Protection Coordinator Inner Suburban renewal

Description
This course is the competency refresher for a Track Force Protection Coordinator (TFPC) to fulfil the role of an Unrestricted TFPC in the Inner Suburban area of the Metro Trains Melbourne (MTM) Metropolitan Rail Network.

Audience
TFPCs who are working in the Inner Suburban Area (TFPC 3.1, TFPC 3.2, TFPC 3.3)
This course is NOT SUITABLE* if the TFPC does:

not hold the Unrestricted TFPC Inner Suburban competency
hold the Unrestricted TFPC Inner Suburban competency but CANNOT submit 3 x compliant Rail Safety Worksite Hazard Assessments (RSWHA) working in the Inner Suburban Area at least once every 12 months, with a total of three (3) shifts within the previous 24 months in the Work on Track App (WOTA).
*If the Unrestricted TFPC Inner Suburban renewal is purchased and the TFPC cannot provide evidence of currency, refunds will not be issued. If an RSW is unable to provide the required evidence, they are still
permitted to attend the renewal refresher course, but their qualification will become ‘observation only’ and they will not be permitted to perform operational Unrestricted TFPC Inner Suburban duties.

Please Note:
• If the RSWs competency is expired by less than 6-months, the RSW is not able to use their competency but can complete renewal training with Metro Academy, for a period up to 6-months following expiry.
• If the RSWs competency is expired by more than 6-months, the RSW is not able to use their competency, and is not eligible for renewal training even if already enrolled. The RSW must book into an initial course, at the same or lower level with an MTM approved training provider.
• If the RSWs competency is expired by more than 12-months, the RSW is not able to use their competency, and is not eligible for renewal training even if already enrolled. The RSW must complete an initial course, at the same or lower level with an MTM approved training provider.
• If the above two points apply, the RSW will be required to meet all pre-requisite requirements of the course for entry.

Course objectives

This course will refresh the knowledge required to perform the TFPC job role in the Inner Suburban Area of the MTM Metropolitan Rail Network.

Assessment methods

Knowledge
Validation of evidence of currency of student completing 3 shifts in the Inner Suburban area in the previous 24 months.

Metro Academy Prerequisites

Participants must be 18+ years of age.
Participant must have completed the Unrestricted TFPC Inner Suburban competency.
Participant MUST have a current Rail Industry Worker (RIW) card / MTM Track Protection card.

Course completion

Participants who successfully complete all requirements of this course will be awarded a Certificate of Completion (CoC).
The CoC will normally be available in ‘The Platform’ within two (2) business days of course completion.
This competency is accepted on the MTM Metropolitan Rail Network and is valid for 24 months. This competency MUST be renewed before expiration.
If the TFPC does not:

pass the Unrestricted TFPC Inner Suburban assessment within two attempts, or/and
submit the Unrestricted TFPC Inner Suburban Evidence Shifts by providing compliant RSWHAs demonstrating working in the Inner Suburban Area.
The TFPC will no longer hold the Unrestricted TFPC Inner Suburban competency and will be unable to work in the Inner Suburban Area.
The TFPC will need to book into the Unrestricted TFPC Inner Suburban Initial Course face-to-face at the next available date.

RIW CERTIFICATE UPLOADS

Metro Academy will upload the participant’s certificate to the RIW database.
To prevent delay, RSW’s The Platform profile MUST contain current email address, contact number, RIW number and date of birth and the RIW card must be current.
Uploads will normally be completed within two (2) business days of CoC being issued.
